Does anyone know if these are safe and good to give a squirrel?
:thinking
Hemp seeds
Buckweat crakers (99% buckwheat)
Oat grains
Wheat grains

I find a lot of information about nuts on TSB but not much on seeds.
Don't the squirrels like them?
:dono

Little Skip is not crazy about any vegetable nor wild greens...

Not really sure...
I know I that I do give my squirrels "biscuits" and things that I make with oats and wheat, to get more vegetables in them, but not sure about the others. If you do find out or if others know, please share!!:)

Here is what I've found from different sources.

HEMP SEEDS: very high in proteins and all but the calcium : phosphoric ratio is BAD: for 100 grammes, Ca 139 mg : Phos: 1123 mg.

BUCKWEATH: 1% calcium, phosphore 3,5% ... not optimal.

OAT GRAIN: Ca 0,05% Phosph 0,34%

In all, I've learned that plain grains score typically much higher in Phosphore than in Ca.

What I understand is that our little furry friends will ingest most of their calcium from their green leaves :Sham :Sham :Sham (I read alfala scores really high) and vegetables. So maybe that's why we're suggested to offer greens and vegggies first thing with the blocks and available all day.
