I didn't see a listing for hickory nuts in the Healthy Diet for Pet Squirrels list, I did see that the trees are safe. I have seen the wild squirrels eat them so I am guessing they ok to feed my squirrel, I picked up two bags full today. What is the best way to store these so they will not go bad.

I order a pile of them every fall - the hard shells are wonderful for keeping teeth ground down. I assume these have had the outer hulls removed? I freeze them and take out enough for a week or so and keep those in the fridge.

The hickory nuts still have the green part still on them should I remove that part? then freeze them

I had fun today just watching my baby tearing it apart before eating one, pieces were flying all over the place!
