Can I get a list of what causes seizures? Not sure if my little guy is having them or not... but a list would help me figure it out IF he is. He's about a month old.

head trauma, low blood sugar, low calcium MBD, too much calcium, ingestion of toxic substance. some of them. Obviously, epilepsy.

Hmmm. None sound right. He's a month old, on FV. Previously had a bad infection but wounds were lanced and he was put on antibiotics. He lost his appetite on the abs and started crying for mom and would do this weird stiff stretching thing, assumed it was low blood sugar since he wasn't eating much... Now his appetite is better than ever, eating 7%... But recently started crying for mom again and looks distressed. He's also very vocal lately when touched, almost grunty. I just assumed it was him getting older...? Not sure what's up. He also seems a little bloated but he's going potty just fine every feeding.

weird stretchy thing sounds like low blood sugar, is he still doing that? Some do get grunty right before their eyes open up. How often are you feeding him?

Has he been on FV all along? When he seems to seize, try to give him a bit of molasses on his gums. It helps to raise blood sugar and replenish a bit of calcium.

No not the stretching anymore. He was shaky/jerky though. His eyes have already opened, they've been open for a week actually. He opened them up wayyyy to early. He's being fed between 3-4 hours. I've been moving it closer to 4 because he seems to still be full at 3.

Do you know if he had a fall when he was found?
What were the circumstances of him being orphaned if you know?
I don't really know. He was dropped off at a vet and she assumed head injury because of his swollen head but that ended up being an infection (puss).

Yes, except maybe a day of goats milk. I've used honey. Is that's okay?

Molasses is better in the long run because it has some nutritional value as it has some calcium and iron in it. For the blood sugar it will work for now though.

I'll make sure to pick some up tomorrow then. Is there any medication to help with this? He's done it repeatedly tonight. I'm almost positive he's seizing now.

I really think you need a vet for this one. There are just too many reasons he could be seizing.:grouphug:Love_Icon:grouphug

Many times when there is head trauma, seizures develop.
Do you have the Wild Mammal Babies book?
There is a short section ( Symptoms, Common Causes, etc.) about seizures that you may
find interesting.
I think I have this scanned in, I will send you a pm.:thumbsup

I did take a video of the end but I'm having a hard time uploading it. I'm positive it's a seizure after reading that pm Nancy.,, now what to do...I'm wondering if it could have anything to do with his prior infection or previous bot flies... I'm doing a little research now. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow and see what she recommends as well.

You can't upload videos to TSB. You have to upload them to Someplace like Youtube or Photobucket and then make a link to them here.
