There is a clinic in my area that is licensed to take in wildlife for rehabilitation but the thing is they do not even try to take care of the squirrels, birds and etc when they are busy which is pretty much all the time. I know this cause I used to work for them..the freezer was the saddest sight to see and I would desperately try to take in baby squirrels and get all the info I could to take care of them or find rehabber a in my area to take them. There was one point where I made a judgement call that a squirrel needed to be euthanized cause he was bleeding and had maggots all over him and was just in bad shape but me being a receptionist could not do it myself so I kept telling the techs to do it..well, I went to just check at the end of the day and he was gone and had suffered.

So what I want to know is if anyone knows how to go about getting it reported that they neglect the wildlife there? It breaks my heart cause I don't work there anymore and I worry that squirrels and others that come in are being starved and neglected. Was wondering also if this is even possible to do?

Report them to animal control and/or your local wildlife center...

Did you give them a number to reach Bobby so they could turn them over to him. Give him their info. We had already made a deal to take them from you and meet up to get them here!

Our clinic has a wildlife vet that comes in every so often but I do agree that our techs need to be more educated when it comes to these babies if we are going to continue to take them in. They know what to do when it comes to dehydration and infections/injuries but not when it comes to feeding which is very important and something I've been teaching them. So yes, the more you teach me..the more I can teach them :)

I'm sorry but I'm seeing a little personal conflect here.... :thinking

This clinic obviously holds a license to take in wildlife. You no longer work for them and now you want them reported. Your just going to come across as a disgruntle ex-employee unless you can provide tangible proof that they are neglecting the wildlife. Hear say is not going to cut it!
You can file a complaint but without any tangible proof I can just about guarantee it's not going to go anywhere. Once it's learned the complaint came from an ex- employee the circumstance as to why your an ex-employee will be taken more into consideration then your complaint.

The best case scenario would be for a rehabilitator to approach them and offer their assistance if any are available and if they would even accept help from just any rehabilitator without requiring a license. You start throwing up red flags around them and I'll guarantee they will require a license if just to protect their own.

Unfortunately there are a lot of animal hospitals/clinics that really don't know how to properly take care of wildlife, neither did the people that brought them there in the first place. Your filing a complaint is a no win situation for you
or the squirrels/wildlife, the clinic will still be in practice.

With squirrels being legal in Florida, I would suggest you get a network of trusted volunteers, a phone list, and provide the clinic with a network of squirrel people wiling to help. If it's legal for people to have squirrels there, I don't see why it would be a problem for the busy clinic to have some help in that way. It would help them by taking some of the load off, and it would help the squirrel by getting them individualized care. Just a thought :grin2

Exactly my point and being legal in Fla.(I forget that) is just a plus!
Don't know the reasons behind your departure but it might be better depending
on circumstance if a rehabber or organization would contact them directly and
offer their assistance.
