We have a deer fawn, and there are no facilities down here in our county that will take it.
The Alabama Wildlife Center in Pelham, AL near Birmingham will take it.
I just need to organize a way to get it there.
We are in Foley, AL.

Does anyone know anyone that may want to help. I know it's a tall order , and it would have to be well organized, but we've got to get this deer out of our district soon. The conservation officer here is a prick, if it was up to him, the deer would just be euthanized, and we just want this baby to go to a good deer rehab.

Any other suggestions would be great!
Thanks!

Thanks step. Unfortunately there are not many members on here that are close to me. At least not active ones.

My sister is in centreville. She said she will help tomorrow..they have a large herd on thier land every day that they feed. The rehab can even bring her there when she's ready to introduce slowly to the herd. :)

Oh my goodness, yall, I'm so sorry, I didn't see any new posts on this thread till just now.
YES! The fawn made it to the right people.
Sid's Mommy, I have no doubt that this will happen again, so I definitely will keep your sister in mind, thank you so, so much.
I did not mean to leave everyone worried.
That baby just needed to get there ASAP, so the wildlife center director drove her all the way there herself. I was just trying to help her not have to drive that far.
We are working on getting our state (mammal) permit here, but until then, animals like deer fawn have to be transported elsewhere.
Thank you all for your responses.

Save my sisters number. Her and her husband LOVE LOVE LOVE the deer on thier property. They have feeding stations all over. Im not sure how many acres they are on, but thier house is at the end of a long dead end road, so it would be a great place to rehab and release. I know my brother in law well enough to know, if you brought him one that needed help, fences and shelters would be constructed practically overnight. You should call them anyway just to let them know she was already taken care of, and maybe even have them on standby for next time if you have an emergency. Maybe you can even point them in the right direction with getting a license. He is retired but still fairly young, and has the resources and plenty of time on his hands. :)
