View Full Version : 3 week old, rowdy, has diarrhea badly.

I woke up this morning shocked to see that rowdy had pooped, but it was darkish yellow and runny.
When i stimulate him, the yellow bubbles out of his bottom.
What can i do to help him get rid of the diarrhea?


His tummy is fat, but its not hard, still soft.
I have been feeding him sugar water and goats milk formula. He is around three weeks old. My guess.211686211685

Poor little guy. Cut out the sugar at this point as it draws water into the gut. Are you using cream with the GM? You might try without that too.

No cream with it, i was advised against that.

My heart is breaking, i dont know what else to do. Last night he was constipated. Today he has diarrhea.
Is there a trick?
Like how apple juice help constipation?

Do offer additional hydration though - just plain old water, warm, by syringe. If you are feeding him every 3-4 hours, in between, at about 1.5 - 2 hours, give him a syringe or two of plain water. You will want to do this as long as he is having diarrhea.

Does it have any smell to it?

No, i dont smell anything.

Ill try the water.
Also, why is his tummy look bloated

You might also try without the yogurt if this continues, or try it with unsweetened yogurt.

If he is bloated, you may be feeding too frequently. Ideally, you want to fill them to where you can see the milk line in their tummy. If you hold them up under their little armpits with their lower body hanging down, the tummy will look like a teardrop. Then you want all of that to digest before you feed again. Feeding again too soon results in mixing new fresh formula with the undigested formula still in the stomach which causes fermentation which causes bloat.

Treating bloat:

Stop feeding until bloat is gone.
Soak baby to the armpits in warm water and gently stroke stomach in downward strokes to encourae then to pass the gas.
Administer a few drops of infant simethicone (Gas - X)

Will adult gas x work, thats all i have...
