Sweet Daisy has a bad tummy. Her poop ranges from soft serve to runny egg yolk consistency. She isn't over fed but her poop is light yellow. She weighs about 118 grams and the poop is still stinky. I'll post this in her thread too--"The Lord Giveth"

She's had 20/50 Fox Valley with some yogurt every 4/4 1/2 hours--5 mg.--and she occasionally nibbles rodent block or HHB. I've been giving her sips of water between feedings. I'm afraid she'll dehydrate. She nibbled one tiny piece of broccoli but didn't want to eat it. That's all. She is spoiled rotten and wants to spend most of her time in my hand curled up. 1've seen her play with her tail once and clean herself once. Seems a 6 week old baby should be more active.

What kind of yogurt?

if she has the runs, should it be pedialyte in between feedings to adjust the balance in her belly?

Pedialyte and cut out the yogurt? May dilute the Fox Valley as well while you are trying to get everything into balance... ??? My thought. Would require some confirmation.

Does the yogurt have probiotics?

I know broccoli is supposed to be on the good list but I would recommend cutting that out while her stomach settles. It can be quite difficult to digest.

The yogurt is Activia because of the probiotics. Couldn't fine YoBaby or any full fat yogurt. It's not much but seemed the probiotics outweighed the low fat. I dunno. The broccoli was a tiny piece yesterday and she tasted it but didn't really eat it. She has nibbled and maybe actually eaten some Mazuri rodent blocks and HHB. She ate a tiny corner of an arrowroot cookie tonight. That was encouraging because she hasn't wanted anything at all except her formula.

When did you start her on the FV 20/50? --and did you slowly transition her over to the new formula?
At 6 weeks old I would feed her every 5 hours, and feed 5-7% of her body weight --no more.

She was transitioned over two days earlier in the week. Her innerds haven't been right since I got her. The original finder kept her for a week and fed her KMR. She never stimulated her and when I got her she smelled to high heaven. Poor thing was covered in dried diarrhea. I hope there's no permanent damage. She's a sweetheart.

She might need a good flushing with the homemade Pedialyte to rid her body of all the bad that is still handing around in her fragile body?
....... I would do a flush tomorrow when you first wake up until her last feeding for the night, then restart with FV the next day.

Homemade Pedialyte:
1 cup warm water
1/4 tsp salt (teaspoon)
1 Tbsp sugar (tablespoon)

Good advice and I'll do it. Hopefully she'll be straight soon.

I would drop the yogurt too. I am not a big fan since every time I have tried to use it and it doesn't matter which brand I get diarrhea. It probably would be better to simply add acidophilus/lactobacillus directly through a supplement than the yogurt. I think yogurt has too much sugar in it and that alone will set off diarrhea in a fragile stomach.

Parasites?

Parasites?

We talked about that and she doesn't have worming meds so we tried to treat w/ metro just in case it was coccidia or giardia. She does have ivermectin but I am always hesitant to use this orally or SQ with really little ones.

Miss Daisy is more active tonight after a day of fluids. She still has diarrhea but then nothing much is going in. She nibbled on a Mazuri block. She's spent most of her day curled up in my hand asleep. When she has to pee she gets wiggly and when I put her in her potty box she'll squat and pee me a river--pale clear urine. She toddles--sort of hunched. I'll try to get some video. At least she's moving! I'm going to see if I can get her into the vet on Monday--or at least get a fecal done if she doesn't straighten up.

IR had fatal incident using ivermectin on a baby.

I don't suppose you have or are near anyone who has some Dia-stat?
