View Full Version : Feeding amount and frequency
Okay I apologize I'm sure the answer/thread is right in front of my nose... Anyway we have a two week old and two babies that are four weeks. And are uncertain about the amount and frequency to feed them. Recently read some conflicting opinions. Please help.
Thanks for your help!

We would need to know the formula that you're using, and the weight of the squirrels.
This will determine the answer to your questions.:tilt

got your Pm.. will start here...
what formula are you feeding? If Fv I would watch the milk lines on alll tummys...
for the two week old, she can probably go three hours between feeding... depending on her weight... in general they should be taking 5-7% of their body weight each feeding.
be sure to stimulate all the sqs until after their eyes open, after each feeding...hope that made sense, ha.
be sure the babies are warm when feeding as well as the formula... cold formula can cause bloat... I am sure you know all this other stuff... so will rest on that! :thumbsup
Yes using Fox Valley and we have all of the other basics down fairly well. We have rehabbed and released nearly 50 babies maybe more. Recently my wife read something regarding frequency and she questioned her normal routine a bit. Hopefully we can get their weight info soon.
Thanks for the response.
