What is the correct daily dosage for powdered calcium to put in the water for an adult gray? We have Wardley's reptile calcium, but were not given any guidance as far as dosage goes.

queenmom I agree that Prime liquid bird supplement with calcium is the best-known product to add to squirrels' diets. Just a few drops in their water every day should do it. In addition, a grey squirrel should have a diet rich in calcium, including green leafy veggies like kale, chickory and spinach -- plus a cuttlebone in his cage to chew on (also found in the bird section) or deer antlers, or femur bones (available from squirrelsandmore.com.) If your squirrel isa green veggie lover and a large part of his diet is high-calcium veggies he may not need the supplement....however, many squirrels who live with humans don't get enough natural calcium, and MBD can be the result.
