A nice couple brought their baby to Julia in the hope of putting him together with one baby that Julia also had. The couple found and raised this baby for about 2-3 weeks. When they found him he was in good shape and they fed him puppy formula (nutrience + 35% cream), used wood shavings for bedding and kept him in a small bird cage. He is alert, very sweet and eats well (even veggies now).

Upon closer examination Julia noticed that the couple's baby (304 gm.. he is about 8 weeks old) was completely wet from the abdomen down to both his back legs and there was a slight smell of pee. She asked the lady what happened here and the lady said that he was like that on and off and she thought it was normal. Julia tried to stimulate the baby to see if he was blocked or if he could pee normally and perhaps was wet because of the long car ride to her house. The baby could not pee normally and was in some discomfort when touched to stimulate. Julia noticed that he was peeing in drips and drops when put back in the cage and she collect one drop on a cotton ball and saw that there was blood!

Julia had amoxy on her hands only and she gave it to the finder. They are waiting for our call now.

Thank you .

All is good.
Super busy but good.
Our Montreal Squirrel Orphan "project" is growing.:thumbsup
Mitch :Love_Icon , Julia :Love_Icon and I are still the main ones in the project but we have more and more people joinning us to help. :) At first they say they will stay only for one saison but then they fall in love with squirrels (no idea why :dono :D ) and many of them come back.

The situation improved even more so after an article about baby squirrels appeared recently in a local newspaper.
A few weeks ago I helped sombody I already knew from last year to save a baby squirrel that his neighbor found. By chance the finder was a writer from the most popular French newspaper in Montreal! ...
She called me asking if she could write an article about me :hidechair.
I said: anything but only if she will say good thinks about squirrels.
So she did.
She put TSB as a reference for my rehabber knowlege and expertise.
I hope you don’t mind… you will have more post from Quebec now.

Since this article was written we received many "likes" in our facebook page, we met many people that are squirrel lovers and found more foster familes. We also received offers for releasing places. :highfive
It' s a lot of work .. organizing everything ... the three of us are very tired but it is all worth it!

And people are good... so much love around.... :Love_Icon
