We did not know what was in our ceiling but it sounded like a hugh party keeping us up at night. My husband set traps and unfortunitly killed four. I felt bad and we got some have a heart and now have three in cages. We love them but know nothing about them but what I've read on the internet.
We are not even sure if there are more. We don't want to let them out and have them getting back in the ceiling. It appears one is a female and two males. Can they be kept together? Any suggestions? My husband has successful pet them . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome Macalaway. If your post is not moved to the Non Life Threatening Help Needed section by the time you check this post, please re-post in that area so it's seen faster. You will find this area if you go to the main board, it's the second from the top.
There are some good rehabbers in Ohio. Can you give us a better idea of where you live? If you don't want to post that information here just say so and we'll come up with something else to help you.

You need to check and see if the female has babies. If so you need to find them.
You can go here: http://www.nfsa.us/phpBB2/index.php and post under the non-emergency section. This board specializes in Flyers. If there are no babies involved you can take them to a wooded area away from your house and release them but do it at night.

Just found your post. I am a rehabber in Ohio. I am in Northeastern Ohio. If you are nearby and don't want to post your location, you can PM me or email me and I will be glad to help you out. With the female, does she look like she could be nursing pups? If so, you will need to find the babies.

and as far as more of them getting in, you'll have to have someone come and look in your attic to make repairs. if they're coming through a vent, there are special vents that can be bought to keep animals out.
our neighbor had a family of raccoons move in a while back, but once she replaced her vents she had no more visitors. not sure what she did with the raccoons, though. :(
