This is a link to a squirrel that I just got in, I can tell she has a respiratory problem. I started her on a double dose of Cipro, She is slightly dehydrated, so I offered some Pedialyte, wont take but 4 cc, She weighs 185 grams, This video shows what I'm wanting an opinion on what the heck is going on with her. Any suggestions??

I agree the poor thing she's very active very smart. she's about 6 weeks old but you think she's 30 weeks old as smart as she is. I don't think there's any neurological issues. could it be that she's just sick with like say the flu and this is what's happening to her?

Baytril perhaps? Does it sound respiratory (in her chest)?

I'm confused, you say "she's very active"??
Is this just when she's sleeping/resting?

I would push the liquid, every 20 minutes or so. Whatever little bit she takes it can only help.

If she's doing this only in her sleep, and for only a period of time and not always, then it could very well be she's dreaming. I would make sure to give her warmth too, and blankies to snuggle into to make her feel secure.

I thought maybe that the movements were a dream but the other noise was coming from the chest i think that you can hear it maybe that was an issue

yes she's very active when she's awake but while she's awake she makes these little raspy noises so that's why I started on the antibiotics

check her teeth, ears and nose... look for fuzz and bugs...
elimination is best place to start...

are you saying when she is awake and active you are hearing NOTHING?
her breathing is normal?
does she do this only when on her back?

Just a shot in the dark here.....found in a church.....If it were and old building maybe she was in a nest made of chewed asbestos?

But it did look like she was just dreaming:D

Her chest is continuous . wife called me and said she finally drank some fluids. I checked her over when she came in, it all looked good. I'm thinking this man tried to take care of her and she got sick and he told me she was in the church.

Will she chew on things? She sounds kinda like a squirrel I had that was hit by a car and had it's teeth rammed up into its sinuses :(.

Compared to last night, I have a new squirrel! She's just had a 3rd dose of AB's and is on turbo, I keep the lights off so she wont hurt herself jumping. Still has a raspy set of lungs but nothing like yesterday. I'm starting to think the "cold" or "flu" has a different "sound" on each one..... Did I just say that completely wrong?
