Has anyone figured out how much FV it takes in all to raise a grey until release? I.E. how many bags is needed to raise one squirrel?

So far Iwonka has taken in 38 this spring and that is NOT counting the ones who stayed with their finders to be raised by them. :bowdown

When I mentioned that Iwonka took in all these babies I really should have mentioned Pip! Fact is, Pip is the one who's been the front person on all these rescues, running around to the SPCA to pick them up, keeping them overnight or even a few days... feeding them, nursing them... Amazing work she's been doing!

For your devotion and love of our little friend Pip, thank you :thankyou You are all heart :Love_Icon

P.S. Auntie Mitch can hardly wait to get Bernie and MIllie over and get them ready for their release :)

Miche that's a great question about the amount of FV to raise one squirrel. It's been so long since I had a season with only one baby that I have no clue....I know when you have five on the baba you blow through that white powder like an '80's pop group :rotfl:rockin

I usually use about 10 pounds of formula a year, but I don't just take in squirrels, I also take in opossums, bunnies, and whatever else :). I usually take in about 150 animals to use that much, so one pound should do for a single squirrel. Maybe 2 lbs if it were a pinkie

I had 15 babies last fall and went through a 3.5 pound bucket and about 3/4 of the way through an 8 lbs bucket!!!

Mitch, I've got 3 right now and since seeing your post I am keeping track. So far it's been 2lbs of FV; 1lb 32/40 and 1lb 20/50. I got them a few weeks ago and they were older...1 at 5 weeks and 2 at 7 weeks.

My friend from Montreal, went to the States for a few days last year so I asked her if I can send some fox valley at her hotel.
I ordered 20 bags! :D
On the way back... at the custom , just in front of custom officer... you know the person who try to makes you feel guilty for nothing... she realized that she actaually has a sutcase full of the white powder. :jump
