Hey, I have a squirrel that has been bitten by a cat at 3 pm and I have been taking care of him since. I had just put a heating pad in the rubbermaid container that I put him in. He has trouble moving his left leg, although all his legs seem to be working. I can't tell if it's just the bite, or the leg, since the cat bite is on the squirrels left side. I'm planning on taking it the a wildlife center tomorrow morning and I was wondering if I should feed it something. It keeps on moving it's mouth and I think the food, or water would give it some strength. The wildlife center doesn't open until 10 am, tomorrow, morning which is more than 12 hours from now. What do you think I should do, feed it, or wait until the center is open tomorrow?

Oh dear, thank-you for helping him! He really needs antibiotics due to cat saliva being toxic for squirrels. Also, the heating pad needs to be on the outside under the container. Only under half so he can get off the heat if he wants to. Is this an adult or a baby?

Where are you in TX? Maybe we can find someone to help you tonight.

:Welcome How is the poor darling this morning? Good advice about the cat bite, it is posion to squirrels. Moving the mouth indicates pain. Try giving him a couple of small branches or pieces of tree bark to chew, a little water in a lid or heavy ashtray is good too, also provide some old tshirts for him to hide under; quiet, dark is best. Poor darling. Thanks for helping.
