Irritated penis

I noticed that my 8 month old squirrel, Pascal has been chewing/sucking on his penis the last couple of day and it is irritated. I don't know which came first, the irritation or the chewing/sucking... Is this something I need to be concerned about and have checked out? Or is this something that is fairly normal and will take care of itself?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Eight MONTHS old and he is doing this? It is usually something seen with wee babies.

Can you tell us about his diet? List what he eats on a daily basis.

A UTI might make him fuss with his penis.

I say chewing/sucking, but I only saw him do that once, so I don't know if it's an ongoing issue...

As far as diet, I follow the Healthy Diet for Pet Squirrels plan posted in the Pet Squirrels Forum. I've been following it for a long time and have never had this issue before.

If it is a UTI, what steps should I take?

He will need antibiotics. Do you have access to a vet? Have you noticed if he is peeing normally?
