Hey, is 1% ivermectin full strength? I'm giving some to ohwiseone and am not sure if 1% needs diluted or if I got stuff that is already diluted. I don't have my mammal babies book, so not sure what the dose needs to be. Trying to dose a 100 gram squirrel.

If you are still on, I will look it up in my book.
I am going to scan the pages in for you and pm them to you, this will take me a couple of minutes.

I thought that 1.87% was full strength.

No, that is the ready to use equine wormer. Ivermectin is available incredibly concentrated and needs to be highly diluted to be used...

We have some posts about the 1.87 variety here as being recommended. I know several people have used it successfully. A dab the size of an uncooked grain of rice once every week for three weeks.

"Dab the size of an uncooked grain of rice" for what squirrel? 100 g baby or 300 g "teenager"? :dono Ivermectin is a strong drug, it is technically a poison - you should use it VERY carefully. More diluted is always easier to dose properly. I always weight my babies and calculate safe dose for every one of them.
BTW selamectin works the same way, but is safer to use in young animals. It is sold as Stronghold (in Poland) or Revolution (USA). We use doses for rats: http://ratguide.com/meds/anti-infectives/selamectin_revolution.php

Is Revolution cheap, widely available, and available without a script? This issue comes up a lot with wilds and the people need something that they can easily get. I don't know if they'd got the step of jumping through any hoops.

I don't know if they'd got the step of jumping through any hoops.I personally check around online and order my Revolution with out a Rx under the name Stronghold from the Uk or Canada --its the same product. You will need about three weeks for it to arrive so order before you need it and keep it on hand. ($30 for 3 tubes)
Just type in "Revolution with out a Prescription" and check for the ones you can order via Pal Pay so you do not have to give out your CC# and you are protected by Pal Pay for up to $200 if the order does not go through --but I have never had any problems.
