Just got a squirrel with bite marks up around ears. One on each side. See photos. Of course I want to start AB but don't have any. Got a call into a local critter rescue/rehab. What can I get that is OTC to help the little guy?
Children's Ibuprofen liquid? He took some water w/ a bit of Gatorade mixed in, about 5-6 ccs. Going to get some pedialyte in a few minutes. What else?

Yes on the infant ibuprophen and he really needs antibiotics. Are you near anyone that may have them? If you can get Cipro, that is the human form of Baytril, that would be perfect.
I will pm you the dosing chart for the infant ibuprophen.
Poor baby, thank you for caring for him.:grouphug

Pedialyte is way better than Gateraide (sp?).
Homemade hydration formula is even better.
Infant Motrin will help with pain.

Poor guy...could be hawk attack (talons).
Either way lucky to be in your hands instead of a predators. :grouphug
Gonna see if I know anyone near you that has meds.

Not sure where everyone in FL is located but it looks like your 1.5 hours from Tampa and JIT is in Tampa.

More like 2+ hours to Tampa, and I'm sick as a dog to boot. I'll address more long term care later if I hear from the local critter rescue. Pretty much everyone is about 2+ hours away.

Is it possible that this can be a really bad lice infestation? Maybe he was scratching at his ears a bit. It's hard to tell from the pic but I think I might see a couple attached to his ear on the upper right side.

He seems to have some balance issues and neuro damage. Kind of flops around. He is sleeping well now. Will wake him in a bit to give him infant IB after an attempt at a weigh in and then pedialyte.

Well, he took more liquids, infant IB and some pedialyte. The local rehabber called, so I went and dropped him off with her. He should have a better chance with a pro than me. Hope he will recover!
Thanks for all the feedback everyone. It may have made a difference. (fingers crossed). :thankyou
