Why is my squirrel scared of everyone?

Ever since I bought my squirrel she has been afraid of me as well as everyone in my family...

Squirrels are wild animals. They are not domesticated, they are not like dogs or cats or horses. They want to be wild, in the trees, and not with us.

I know that in many places squirrels are sold as pets, and I guess that's how you got yours. The best thing you can do is take it very very slowly with her. One day at a time, offering her treats and not making fast moves or being loud around her. Keep dogs, cats and small children with large voices away from her. She is probably wild-caught and has no idea what has happened to her. :(
