I need a rehabilitator in Springfield Mo or nearby. I received a call of an eyes opened baby that go separated from mom when she was evicted from an appartment attic. There may be more babies if they can find them. Still might be able to reunite with mom. The girl needs phone advice and possibly someone to take the baby.

Have been in contact with the folks with the baby. When they went back to the house/attic last night there was no sign of mama or other babies. I think the evicted mom found another way in and took the rest of the babies or there were no more. They are bringing the baby they have to me after work.

I was thinking the very same thing. Cheeky & Johnny are going outside to the release cage as soon as the temperature stops getting in the 30's at night and I was dreading my empty nest. And the need for tons of pics goes without saying. :thumbsup

Yeah, I think we're in for some nasty weather. Don't worry though, I won't put my boys out until the weather is okay. I've been watching the 10-day forecast and was planning to put them outside on Saturday if the weather doesn't change AGAIN.
The couple with the baby from the attic eviction brought her over to me last night. I think she's about 8 weeks old (ya'll can see what you think). She is so frightened and sooooo wild I haven't even been able to get a good picture by myself. Os and I will do that this evening. Poor little girl growls off & on the entire time she's sucking down formula. She weighs 265 grams and takes between 15 & 20 cc's per feeding.
Her name is Ruthie - stand by for a new thread with pics.

I got a quick look in Ruthie's mouth and now I'm wondering about the age. Her top toofers are only about 1/4 cm long. It seems that 8 week teeth are longer than that. Or am I over-analyzing? :thinking She's peeing good and I've seen a few normal poops. :)
She stays curled up in the sleep sack and I've just been pulling her to the edge to feed her cuz she's just terrified if I take her out of the sack. I did pet her a little while after she ate at 12:00. She remained curled up with her eyes closed, but she liked it. :thumbsup

Poor little baby. She is traumatized. I had one like that too, and I had to feed completly covered up, the whole body and the head.:shakehead
Before I even approached her cage, I would talk softly to her, so that she knew I was coming. She just hid all of the time. She was stuck in an air duct with her mom and siblings, and she was the only survivor.:shakehead
Your little one is with the right person, you just need patience and to gain her trust. :grouphug
I would also go in a pet her when she was covered up, and if her eyes remained closed I would go near her chin/cheek, and she
would give armage, but if she opened her eyes.....she would freak out.

I have her here at work with me. Glad I'm I'm not too busy today. :) I've been going in (to the kitchen where she's hidden) every hour, speaking softly while putting my hand in her sack with her and petting her for a few minutes. She has stopped fussing & growling so loud and is holding a little more still. :thumbsup
