On of my babies is starting to growl at us when we open the door to the cage. We tried talking to her before reaching our hand in so maybe wr could calm her down but she seemed extremely frightened and tried to snap when we did slowly reach our hand in. This is the second.time she has done it today and has never done it before.

Remind me...how old are the babies? They do go through a stranger danger sort of stage at some point and become a bit scary.

Between 6-7 weeks now
Will they grow out of it? How long will it last ): and is there a way I can calm.her down and make her feel safe and comfortable again..sooner rather than later?

You just radically altered their living conditions too, no? If so, the new outdoor cage could also be setting them off.

Outdoors? Why so young outdoors? This is an age when they do act a bit like that, but in my opinion they are too young to be outside. Are you readying them for release?

It isnt outdoor though, we made it outside but its inside and theyve been in it for a little over a week now? I hope the cage isn't the problem ):

No they aren't outside, we took them outside yesterday to play for a few mins, was told its a bad idea, they stay inside their cage and living arrangements are inside

My girl done this about a week after she opened her eyes. She also lunged at me a few times, but she did grow out if after a couple days. I do not know what set her off but she is fine now.

It's the age. Little Grrrr's and snaps and maybe even a couple swats. The new cage probably has something to do with it too. It's just a sign of growing up....they are practicing a new learned skill.

Changes aren't tolerated well, cages, shampoo, hand cream, soap, cleaning supplies etc. so maybe something happened there?

How is she after the initial contact with her, does she calming down? OR does she continue to swat and growl?

We are an accommodating lot aren't we... :D

Hoarding a stash will also get one growled and slashed at,
when she is out of her enclosure check bedding, nest, etc and
remove anything she hoards.
