I have 3 six-week grey babies. At least one of them no longer is producing Fox Valley golden nuggets...it is soft and white. She is otherwise very healthy, and this has been going on for less than 24 hours.

I'm a volunteer foster mom for a rehabber. Last year she gave me some acidophilus powder that works great for diarrhea...I raised 12 squirrels and never used it. Murphy's law....these are my first squirrels of the year and I don't have the powder.

What about mixing in some full fat yogurt with the FV? They are about 150 grams and get fed 7-8 mL of FV every 4 hours (except at night). How much would I mix in? I vaguely remember to mix it in AFTER heating the FV.

Thanks.

I think white stool is usually an indication of overfeeding. I know that FV takes awhile to get digested. Form the numbers though it doesn't sound like it. I hope someone has a better idea. Could if be that they're fed too often? I thought squirrels of this age were fed something like every 5 hours.

Yeah, I've actually started waiting about 5 hours in between to see if that would help. I'm not giving them too much FV at a time though.

Are you using 1 part FV to 2 parts water?

Every 4 hours is too often. Up it to 5.5, then 6, with no overnight of course. You should see golden nuggets again shortly. :)

Yes, correct ratio of water to FV.

Thanks. I won't feed them quite so often.
