We were gettin ready for release and now we have a cut foot nothing too serious looking but he feels really hot to the touch. Much hotter than his brother and he is hurting. He won't let his brother anywhere near him. What do I do??

Do you have infant ibuprofen and neosporin?

How old is he? What kind of squirrel is he? How much does he weigh? How long has he been hurt and running a fever? And do you have any antibiotics? I am not at all an expert, but I know that they'll want to know this kind of stuff.
Oh, and do you have a picture of the injury?

He is seven months and a full grown fox squirrel. I couldn't get a picture. The cut isn't bad I know it will heal just fine I'm just worried about the fever. I think after watching him he is so lethargic acting bc his brother tried to play with him all day and he is worn out from keeping him at bay.

I can get infant ibuprofen in the morning. I have neosporin but he keeps licking his cut. It's not bloody or anything just a clean little cut.

He should be fine. Maybe stress is raising his body temp? Infant iuprofen is good but you will need a weight for dosing.

Hydration is also good for just about any fever or infection.

He is drinking water fine and he ate well. I think he just hurts. My poor little man :( he also did eat two pecans as a treat tonight. I will check in the morning and then if he is worse weigh him and ask for dosing. I have a scale just tried not to move him too much tonight.
