Ophelia and Jonah are a little bit less the 8 months old now and still in the same cage together. Until a few days ago they have been getting along perfectly. :(

Ophelia has been a bit witchy with him, it's almost as if she's become a bully! She follows him around the cage with a piece of food in her mouth and then gives him a hard time. Jonah is a lot more mellow then she is and doesn't seem to want to fight with her so he is always the one to move somewhere else. She always eats her veggies/fruit and HHB's but hoards her nuts and Kaytee blocks, something she has not done until recently.

I have been reading up on squirrel maturity and saw in a post on here that female squirrels can go into heat around 5 or 6 months. My question is do you think this is what's going on with her and should I separate them so Jonah can get some peace and quiet.

I am skeptical on 5 or 6 months... even 8 may be young for sexual maturity.
However, their activity sounds normal for sibs...
where's the pics????:poke :poke :poke :poke :D

Thanks Jackie! :)

I guess a part of me thought it could be sibling rivalry!! :D

I actually got a new camera for Christmas! The problem is that as soon as they see the camera come out, they are trying to eat it! So, as much as I love taking pics of them, they have made it quite difficult. But since you asked maybe I will try again today! :)
