Ok, I have no squirrel proofed room or anything yet, don't wanna leave the boys stuck in Henry's cages all winter.
I been letting them out one at a time for an hour or so every day, maybe twice if the mood strikes me.
But always ALWAYS one squirrel at a time. Cuz who could chase 2 squirrels in a non squirrel proofed house right?
Well today, I opened door and they both got out at the same time, General and JEB. So I gave up and let them run.
MY OH MY! What a big difference with 2 of them out at the same time. They were TAMER, much happier, loved wrestling each other.
JEB even played follow the leader right onto my shoulder, a FIRST.
So if you are wondering if 2 is better together out of cage time.. .answer is YES! :D

Wow that's great the way they acted together:D I would love it if my Squirt had a playmate this way I wouldn't feel so guilty leaving him alone when I go to work and so he could learn how to interact with another squirrel.

If you let them out in the room where their cage is, do it an hour or two before dusk and leave the cage door open. Once it is dark outside, when its time for them to go back into the cage, simply turn off the light. Its natural for squirrels to return to their nest at night. I just go in and shut their door after they are asleep back in their nest. Of course, you want to make sure there isnt a better nesting site in the room or you might end up with squirrels living in your closet.
