My Gal Peetie the Girl Squirrel

Peetie, I call her P for short, came to me from a friend who rescued her from her cats after a snake fell from the tree with P's Mom in its mouth. She got knocked from the nest and was trying to scoot up the tree running blind because her eyes had not yet opened. My friend Molly rescued her and brought her to me because I had hand raised two newborn kittens so she thought I would be perfect for the job. I was going through a difficult time and when Peetie came to me I really needed the distraction from my own issues and it did not take long before she became a big joy in my life. She was around 3 weeks old when I got her on 10/3/2012 but i count her birthday as 9/3/2012 because it is easy to remember due to the fact it is my anniversary...Anyway, here is some photos of Peetie.....I made the mistake of deleting some of the photos from my camera so i dont have her tiny ones. Hope you enjoy seeing and hearing about her. I am glad to be here because I have truly learned a lot from all of you.

Oooh we have a boy Petey! How did you pick her name? Our guy is a ground squirrel and they whistle really loud to alert others, so we named him whistling pete like the fireworks.

Thanks everyone.......I got the name Peety bc i thought she was a boy when i first got her.....:) but she knows the name now so it stuck...:)
