My other half and myself had two flying squirrels that we lost. A little over a months time has passed and after many tears and much heartache and discussion we have decided we are ready again. We would like to adopt another squirrel, we would prefer another flyer but would be just as happy with any squirrel. I have the means to care for a baby and an adult whereas last time we had to scramble and research after finding our babies beside a main road. I live in western NC and know its not baby season here but I anybody needs a home for a baby we would be willin to give it one.

Is there any chance that you'd be willing to drive to Kentucky? One person here is currently being forced to part with her two babies but so far we don't know anyone in the area who could take them.

Baby season for the spring is coming up soon too! If you can't find any right now, you can prepare (make up a big cage, get supplies ready) and in a few months there should be babies galore :)

I posted on that one thread, no reply.

IH, I still have my flyers cage that I'm simply going to expand on, plan to make it a floor to ceiling enclosure. I believe the other dimensions are already ok. After expansion it will be approx 6.5ft tall 2.5-3ft wide and 4ft deep. I still have supplies from sassy an squeaky (FV, blocks, calcium powder, etc) stuff I can store. I've already got new bedding for in the cage and materials for improved nest boxes just need a sunny day (been nonstop rain/sleet/snow for bout 2 wks) this time I will be prepared instead of starting wrong and coming across the right info days later. So this time whether I acquire or adopt a baby I'll be ready. Since loosing sassy and squeaky I've been fairly quiet on the board but check in often, been studying all the care and nutrition threads and even writing in a notebook so the info sticks. :) I don't want to fail anymore babies.
