You may remember me last year for my SFS Leena, who lost the majority of her tail. Since then, we have been trying to get the hair on what remains of her tail to return. But as I'm sure you can imagine, it's itchy and bothersome for her, and she overgrooms the new hair.

We have tried several things. Three separate E-Collars of different sizes and shapes, and somehow she still got to her tail! The vet opted for an antibacterial/soothing cream which we've been putting on her regularly, and recently I've even tried dabbing some bitter apple on it.

Mind you it's not an open sore, and she lets us touch it without any sign of pain or discomfort. My concern is that she took her cone off last night, and I'm getting concerned she may continue to overgroom to a dangerous degree. I want to head that off at the pass, because I am -NOT- giving up on my baby girl.

Her diet consists of protein (rodent block and chicken since she can't reach the meal worms with her cone on), dark leafy greens, the occasional bit of fruit and hard shell nuts. We've kept her in a cage in the living room for a bit to keep an eye on her, and while she loves having more attention from us, it brings anxiety like crazy to see her tail not getting better.

Attached is a picture from this morning. A small amount of fur as grown back near the base of her tail, but I suspect the tip is bare from her fussing. I plan on taking her back to the vet soon, but this board always seems to know more than they do.

Thanks in advance. Peace and love.
