I have a quick question I know flying squirrels need vitamin c because of lack of sunlight but what kind of drops do I put in his water.
Thank you

Not vitamin C-vitamin D. Vitamin D helps with the absorption of Calcium. Flying squirrels get their vitamin D from eating mushrooms. Actually from eating the gills of mushrooms. No need to add anything to the water, just make sure your flyer gets mushrooms at least twice a week.

I second what Anne said.

Is there any way to get them their vitamin D without the mushrooms??:thinking Mine flatly refuses to eat mushrooms. She gets fox valley mixed in with yogurt daily. Will this give her the Vit D she needs. Sorry for thread jacking.... but it's a valid questions. My squirrels don't like mushrooms and Wal Mart quit selling the individual caps, so you have to buy a whole package, and they go bad so quickly.

You can try portobellas and see if they like that. Is there any grocery store near you besides Walmart?

Yeah, there's a couple different from wal mart. Just never go into them. I'll look for portabellas. And I didn't know you could freeze them, thought it would turn them to mush. Learn something new everyday! :thumbsup

try different ones. Mine like baby bellas, and really love the ****ake ones too. they will eat the little brown ones, as well (forget what they are called).

Good deal! I didn't know they could have different kinds. All I've ever bought is the baby bellas.
