Hines Brand Jumbo Walnuts

Hi, I bought some jumbo walnuts in the shell at Walmart. It wasn't until after I got them home & opened the bag that I saw they were "Cleaned With Bleach And/Or Liquid Chlorine" :thinking are these safe to feed?? If not I wonder if I can take them back, they weren't cheap!

Personally, I would bring them back and tell them you don't eat things that are cleaned with bleach. They will take them back I'm sure.

and being cleaned with bleach is a red flag b/c normally they don't need to be cleaned with bleach. So, does it mean that these nuts got mouldy or something, or were stored in some kind of unsanitary conditions that they needed to be cleaned with bleach?....:thinking
