Clicking Noise? Purring? or Threat of Violence to me?

Hammie makes this clicking noise with his mouth, sounds sorta like a cats purr, but sounds more like he is sharpening his teeth to chomp on me?

What is this sound he makes? What does it mean?

Usually he does it when he is being petted, or afterwards.

My other squirrels don't do this noise.

I think it must mean he is scared or something, but not sure? why does he do it when I pet him?

or does it mean he LIKES it? I don't know.

I hear people talk about the squirrels purring, not sure what that is either?

I have heard of squirrels purring. not an expert on it though..does he only do it when being petted?

Purring and clicking are different. That sift clicking is usually when Sammy is a bit unsure or nervous. hammie is just nervous, but getting better. The putting is less in their mouth more thriaty.

you said it perfectly. Flip purrs and its a sound that comes from his throat. He does it when i pet him or he's glad to see me or playing on me. He teeth chatters, sounds like a clicking at other times.... i am not sure but thinking its when he is not so sure about something or nervous like SM said. He does the teeth chatter alot in his cage so I get confused sometimes about why he is doing it.

Rose does this sometimes too. Same thing just nervous about things. It's ok!:D

I just want to KNOW what the WARNING sounds are.. hahaha..

I thought it sounded like he was gonna bite me, but was not sure if it was worth the trouble or not.. hahaha...

Squidsy just started doing this too... I thought it was congestion at first. She only does it when she is calm and content, or being petted. Sometimes it sounds like its coming from the chest/throat area...sometimes its more of a nasal sound. I dont believe its a threatening sound, but it does have me worried since we have all been sick around here :thinking

My boy bello was doing a sound today it sounded kinda like a cats purr. He was in his cage by his food dish and when he did it his tail was moving around. I was wondering what that was all about?
