I had a bought a small litter pan when I was going to get a kitten. Can I use it for the babies? (8 weeks old) They always seem to go potty in the same spot in the bottom of their cage. Little girl even leaves play time to go back in the cage to go pee.

I have noticed since they started pooping on their own the seem to love pooping on my towel why I feel them. I dont quite understand why the feel the need to poop while they are eating. Guess they gotta make room. So kitty litter will not bother them? I had bought some of that too. I thought about getting paper bedding like what I used with my guine pigs.

I did not make it to the pet store yesterday (i fell and hurt my ankle) so i took some paper towels (torn into small pieces) and oak leaves and place them in the litter pan. I was very surprised when the boy start like sneaking down the cage to grab a piece and took it back up to the nest box. I guess they are making their nest, because after the girl got done eating and the boy started eating she started doing the same thing. Needless to say they are peeing in the litter box but there is not much left in there. I clean their nest box about 3 times a week. Should I take out this stuff they carrried up there yesterday? I hate to destory their hard work.:osnap

I hope your ankle is okay!! Nah, taking tissues and paper towels (and whatever else they can steal) to their nest makes them soooo happy, so don't take it out and break their little squirrelly hearts. :nono If you want to keep them occupied for hours just give them a pile of paper towels or napkins. :rotfl

Thanks my ankle is better, I bought some carefresh and put it in the litter pan last night, and they had a blast playing in. (although they made a mess for me to pick up) They was rutten like pigs. Too funny.

Flip WAS going in a litter box. I used a walmart generic brand of cat litter, all natural, no dust, chemical free and he didn't have any problems. It was only a dollar a bag. He stopped going in the litter box tho and proceeded to dig all the litter and throw it about making a mess! so I just stopped trying... idk why he stopped, I changed it every day, he was doing soooo good with it.

I will have to try the dust free litter, that carefresh was almost $10 that could be expensive quick.
