Ok, we've been "adopted" by a baby squirrel, approximately 6 weeks old. We couldn't find any goats replacement milk and a water dish didn't seem to be something he wanted - so we're using fruit flavored pedialite and he's drinking it in volumes between 3 and 12 cc depending on the time of day mostly. He's also been eating raw almonds and some other assorted nuts in pretty good quantity.

We did read that Henry's could get us replacement goat milk so it's on it's way but in the meantime I do worry about his furry little butt.

His activity has been increasing since we were adopted, about 6 days ago, from just a little tired and slightly active to pretty damn active and becoming a handful to keep in one spot.

All these things mean he's doing good as far as I can tell, but I wonder if he's getting enough nutrition.

I need to know what the calorie intake requirement is for a squirrel. I know this is probably too specific a question, but I do want him to be as healthy as possible.

If anyone can give me a hand with this I would really appreciate the help, and I'm sure Orzechy would appreciate the help too.

Make sure you check out the nutrition thread. I would not be giving nuts yet especially as the main diet.

Thanks so much for the information, looks like a trip to the fruit/veg aisle this morning. It's hard being squirrel parents for the first time. :)
