Pineapple leaves?

I recently bought a whole pineapple and Hiccup is OBSESSED with it. Especially the leaves. Are they ok for him to eat? When he has out of cage time that's all he does is eat/hunt for the pineapple. Can I just let him chew on it?

Boy, I don't know. Unripe pineapple is apparently quite toxic. I can't find much about the leaves. My rule of thumb is that if there is even the tiniest chance, I don't feed it.

I wonder what is so facinating to him about it!

The first time he did it, I took it away from him and put it on top of the fridge and then googled if it was safe for him to eat. I couldn't find anything on the subject and just decided to not let him have it. A little while later I see Hiccup making his way to the kitchen and sure enough, up to the top of the refrigerator he went and straight to the pineapple! I've tried moving and hiding many, many times but he finds it every time.
