JEB Stuart plucking cage bars with teeth like a harp! Help! :D

JEB is biting the cage bars with his teeth, plucking at them... It makes a boing sound when he does this, I think this sound entertains him.

I am afraid he will ruin his teeth and be NR...

what do I do? Help please :D

Oh my gosh, Hiccup does this too! He also grabs them with his mouth and paws and shakes them furiously. It's so loud I can hear it all the way downstairs! The only think I find that helps is to give him something he can chew on and entertain himself with (a piece of wood, a nut in the shell, etc) It keeps him quiet for a while. Other then that, I normally just let him out of his cage for a bit, it seems to calm him down and when I put him back he will be content to just play with his toys or lay in his hammock and look out the window.

OH boy sorry had to laugh because we have said for years Charley is playing his harp...see CC sleeps in a bird cage, when he wakes up in the morning he plucks the bars/except Mark just replaced the door because he actually broke the bars) anyway when he does that to let me know he is up, he gets moved to his big play room so I don't have to worry about it....but if he was in the cage all day he would harp away :shakehead I think he did chip the orange off once by doing that so I try to get him out ASAP :D

lucy my flyer does this but it is only because she found a broke one and escaped once..lol now she goes through and checks the bars for broken ones..lol for her next escape.. and we all know a henery's cage is big enough..lol soo she is just very smart and dont forget nothing..:rotfl

won't his teeth be ruined and he have to stay inside with me?

I don't want him to have to stay inside. He wants outside BAD already.

Ashfault does it too, he bites the bars of his cage. I believe he does so because he does not want to be in the cage any longer. When he does so, I take him out of the cage and put him in his play area also. They do not like to be left in the containment long, they prefer to have more of a free roam.

Olympia also takes her dish and throws it at the cage same w warter bottle

He's got you trained. He boings.... you come. Actually he is bored, he wants out, wants L E A P.... and run. Have you tried a wheel? That may allow him to burn off his excess energy running like he wants to do, verses irritating and possibly damaging behavior.

as soon as I can afford it I will build a BIG 6x6 cage... guess that is gonna be the only solution is to let them have more room.
