Ok I am picking up a litte guy this afternoon and need to re-fresh my memory on a few things. I have raised a squirrel before but she passed about a year and a half ago now and need a little help. I still have some powdered milk from Fox Vallie. Not much so I will have to get some more. Do you think it will still be any good? It's been in the frezzer. The little guy I am picking up is about 5-7 weeks old. They said that his eyes are just open and he is starting to get his teeth. I haven't seen him yet. So after all that, my question is how old are they when they stop wanting milk? I need to order some but don't know how much I should get? Thanks so much and Sorry for the Book.:thankyou

Personally, I feel that if the Fox Valley has been in the freezer it should be fine.

I think I speak for most of us on TSB that we let our babies take formula as long as they want. I have a 17-18 week-old that still wants her bowl of warm FV every morning. I order my Fox Valley from Henry's so I can get their Henry's Healthy Blocks (Growth Formula). I put part of a HHB in with them every day as soon as they open their eyes so they can teeth on it and eventually start eating it.

Personally, I allow them to self-wean. I have a 12 week old that hates it and a 17 week old that cant get enough. For your babe, I would count on 2 months of feedings. The FV should be good to start, but you should get fresh 20/50.

A year and a half sounds a bit old on the Fox valley, look on the package and you should see the "use by" date stamped on it. You do need to order more, your little one is no where ready to wean yet.

I too blocks/biscuits in the cage just as soon as eyes are open. Seems to me my guys wean them selves quite early. At first they make messes just chewing then next thing I know they are fighting for the block/nuts/veggies/fruit and ignoring me. At that point I know all is good and the FV goes back in the freezer.
