Misty is set up in the Nursery thread. Wanted to get some ideas though...she wants really nothing more than her formula. Her eyes opened on Halloween (almost 2 weeks) so I thought she'd be more interested in real food by now. She nibbles on her blocks, but not enough that I think I should start adding other foods. I had a recommendation to warm the blocks...that doesn't seem to help. Any other ideas??? She's happy and healthy and active, but just doesn't seem to have much interest in eating any real food :-(

Have you tried soaking the blocks in something such as formula? or yogurt? or even water? Remember that most blocks are not made for small animals to eat a bunch of. I've always been around animals (all my life) I even work at Petco. They typically eat about one per day. What block is She on? and how much are u feeding her per day? Mine is having issues right now with diarrhea. He had an excessive amount of bacteria in his feces so hes on antibiotics, but he's going to be on Kaytee Fortified Pro Health. hang in there :)

If she only opened her eyes 2 weeks ago, she is right on track as far as eating solids. Formula should be her primary diet right now and for several more weeks. She will eventually start eating her blocks, but for now, FORMULA!!

Thank you! Oh she does love her formula...lol...she nibbles at the blocks here and there. I just thought she should be eating it more by now. Good to know she's still on track!!

I agree with Milo's Mom. It seemed right on track to me. My guy, who now, at 13 weeks, eagerly tries everything I offer him, used his block to teeth on (without looking like he was actually eating any) for a long while - at least 2 weeks.
After she's eating solids, don't give up that formula too quickly either - I switch mine to a solidly anchored bowl, and give them formula morning and night but water in between. When she stops drinking the formula and is eager for her water, you'll know she's ready to give it up.
FWIW, it is exactly the same with human babies :-).
