new baby diarrhea

got a baby in last night. the people were feeding him saltine crackers.now little boy has the runs. so I know how bad diarrhea can hurt the baby. can he at 6-7 weeks old have a dose of Imodium? I've dosed my big ones with it before. here's a little about him.
he's a male grey squirrel about 100 grams he's fully furred about 6-7 weeks old. got both bottom teeth teeny tiny uppers. he's on fox valley as of last night interspersed with homemade pedialyte. he's quite small. fell two stories from a roof. he was out there all day with cats everywhere. so he's all good except for the runs.

I'm not one of the experts but I would recommend to keep doing what your doing, although I would recommend a little yogurt as well. As long as you're feeding him FV and pedialyte that will help flush the crackers salt out out, he will need the fluids to flush out the salt from his system. Yogurt will sooth his tummy and help rebalance the internal bacteria. Other than that I can't think of anything else, I wouldn't give Imodium or something like that unless the diarrhea persists for more than a day or two. I would just make sure he gets enough fluids to keep him hydrated.

The people you got him from unfortunately were trying to be kind and caring... just completely ignorant of the damage they were doing. As the old saying goes, the road to he** is paved with good intentions.

that's what I was thinking. has to be the crackers. he just fell out of the nest shouldn't have the runs. I told the people when I picked him up that the crackers were bad for a baby. I will add yogurt to the fv. thanks.

Stress often times will upset baby sqs too.

hey Jackie. yeah I'm always on call for these litte guys. he's very late LOL. but he has a good home coming up. he's been eating pretty good. the people that found him are loud people. he was warm when I got to him thank God. now he's sleeping in the puppy bed that's seen 7 or more babies in it. its beside my bed 1/2 on1/2 off a heat pad. doing what I can for the squirrel species. oh I just remembered. we were going after him and the car in front of us actually stopped in front of us for a squirrel.
