I just bought 10 pounds of shelled almonds. What's the best way to keep them fresh the longest?

I think the freezer is best.

You can vacuum seal in Mason jars with an attachment for your vaccuum sealing machine... then put in the freezer to last super long time...
those vacuum sealling machines are SUPER!

We put all our meat in FoodSaver bags. Takes up less space in addition to protecting from freezer burn. Plus you can use it to reseal the bags of things like potato chips.

If you get a Foodsaver machine (go to amazon for best deal)... be sure to get the machine that has the HOSE attachment.
You can get a doohickey that fits over the lid of a Mason jar, and sucks the air out of the jar! Can use this over and over on thousands of jars... only $19 and so worth it.. Great for storing rice, beans, coffee, cereal, NUTS and even liquids like soup !!!!
comes in wide mouth or regular... I'd get wide mouth one so hand can go down inside the jars...

This is the one I have, it comes with the hose to do jars and bowls:

Of course never have used it on a jar or bowl.
