I will keep looking but I have yet to be able to locate Mazuri Rodent Block in any of our local pet stores (2 locally owned, 1 petco and 1 petsmart) and I was hoping that since Mazuri is a pretty well known brand, I would be able to buy them in a store as temporary rodent blocks until I get Harlan Rodent Blocks in the mail, however, no luck so far. I have checked every where except petco, and I wanted to ask for back up ideas first in case petco doesn't have them either. So ideas?
I was able to find this @ petsmart: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3703250&lmdn=Pet+Type
But I don't know that it is nutritionally sufficient.

The following feeding amounts can be used as a starting point for one pet. Adjust the portions to maintain proper weight and if additional pets are fed.
Mouse: 1 block

Hamster & Gerbil: 1 to 2 blocks"
In both locally owned stores and the petsmart, when I asked for rodent block the employees were totally clueless as to what I was looking for. Before I went to petsmart, I bought (out of desperation and fear of ending up with a picky eater) Simple Rewards Veggie Treats (by Oxbow) and Ecotrition Mini Treat Sticks Vitamin & Mineral Enriched with veggies (by 8 in 1), but I haven't offered either of them yet. Are either of them okay for him to eat?? Maybe at least as a treat?

I know from the nutrition chart lists trees, so when I saw these small sticks called 'Willow Gardens Pretzel Sticks' my interest was piqued. They are very, very small/thin and twiggy, so I figured they would be good for him since he is still small. According to the label they are 100% Natural Willow Chew Treats and are 100% Natural Willow. I couldn't remember if Willow was listed as a safe tree or not and I wanted to check but I couldn't get internet service in the store (stupid pay as you go phone :shakehead ).. anyway they were only $1 so I got them and came home to check the nutritional chart, however it doesn't have willow listed as a safe or unsafe tree. I went to the manufacture's website and it doesn't have an exact species of willow listed as an ingredient, it just says willow... SOO I looked further on the interwebz and still came up with nothing more than WILLOW and on the Drs Foster and Smith website(who I trust fairly well) it says "Willow twigs offer a safe, irresistible, and very-reasonably priced chew to satisfy natural chewing behaviors and to keep teeth trimmed and clean. "
Despite trusting the Drs Foster and Smith website, I thought before offering them to Catrachito, I would ask if anyone knows weather or not they are, in fact, safe?
