I have my baby Darla who is a 10 week old gray squirrel, when I went to shut her cage she stuck her two toes in and I didnt notice until i heard her scream :( :( i feel SO BAD. She wont walk on it, but she will grab things out of my hand with that hand. It is about twice the size of her other hand. WHAT DO I DO??? I feel soooooooo bad! She just wants to rest and be left alone.
PLEASE HELP

Deep breath! Any chance of a pic? I think it will be fine, maybe infant Motrin if you have it. Someone here will help with dosing.

She will be fie from what I see. We will see who else weighs in, but I think it will just take a little time. Like when you shut your finger in a door.

I think we have all done this at one point in time.:shakehead
Do her little "fingers" move? It sounds like they do if you said she is grabbing things out of your hand.

:Love_Icon i hope so. If anyone can help me with dosage of something I can pickup at the local drug store, I would really appreciate it. I will run out and get it right away. I just want her to be comfortable.
Thank you SO MUCH for your help ! :):thankyou

She moves them, but not a lot. When it first happened she screamed at me when I touched them, now she is ok with me feeling them. Happened about an hour ago.

Do you have a weight on her?
You can give her infant ibuprophen.
I can dose if you have a weight.....or I can estimate a weight if you don't have a scale.

OK, so I went and got the medication and measured it out the best i could. Is there any signs to watch out for if i would have gave her too much?? :dono

You just gave her a couple of drops, right? Did you measure it with a feeding syringe, or the measuring syringe they include.

Gave her 2 drops out of the one included in the package of the medication. The swelling has gone down ALOT :thumbsup . But still no weight on it yet :shakehead

This is fantastic news. I am going to go measure two drops out of the one included in the bottle, just to see how accurate it is....:) and I will let you know. The ibuprophen will help reduce the swelling also.
I wouldn't worry about her not putting weight on it right now, it is probably quite tender.
Great update.....:thumbsup

OK I know I am going to sound really anal....but the drops that I get from the syringe included in the meds are twice as big as what I get with a dosing syringe. BUT this chart that I sent you is dosed low, as you can see where it says dosed @.
So for tonight if you think she needs more, (after 4 hours from her initial dose) you can still give her two drops, but after that, I would kick her back to 1 drop from the dosing syringe included with the med. OK?:)
