Baby has pneumonia - Baytril 10%

I'm looking high and low here for amoxicillin and so far nobody has ANYTHING and the vets here don't treat squirrels. I could get FishMox (500mg or 250mg capsules) from Amazon but that would take nearly a week to arrive - far too late.

I was wondering if Baytril 10% liquid from this company would work:

Can get it USPS priority which in my experience (I do a lot of shipping) takes about three days. She's a fighter, taking about 6ccs of formula, staying toasty warm and is relatively active but obviously weak. You can hear noise in her lungs but no loud clicking yet.


Keeping my fingers crossed I can get some amoxi from SOMEONE here, calling everyone I know. Ugh. There used to be a store here in town that carried FishMox but the owners retired and closed the place! Hang in there little Sofie :(

If she does have pnuemonia, you do not have three days.
Ask friends and family what ABs they have on hand..
and post them here with the miligrams..
we will tell you if it will work and if it will, we will help you with dilution and dosing..

why not try going by the vet, tell them the problem and ask for Baytril.... surely they will help, they love animals, or they would not be vets... Hurry afore they close!

Called every vet in town, the receptionists were sympathetic but the actual vets...not so much.

Networking out to every one I know in the area too. So far, no luck, but keeping my fingers crossed. She's bright, active and eating but she needs meds.

I have a friend in Ohio that can get Baytril at her local grocery (I called groceries, big shops, vets, we don't have any pet shops in the area) and can overnight it here. Will probably be doing that within an hour if I can't get something here.

Edit: And my dad's at work and my truck has a busted hub so I can't actually GO TO the vet and thrust a baby squirrel in their face.

i swear you women better figger out that if you GO to the vet office and CRY they will give it to you to shut you up.

anyhow works for me..... but too easy to say NO on the phone....

crying works good ladies, men hates it and will do anything to shut us up.... go.... cry...No need to take squirrel with you.......it's antibiotics, not hard drugs ! good luck :D
