Possum - Benadryl Question

I have a friend whose nr possum was stung by a yellow jacket (2x) and she is needing to know if she can give him Benadryl..... I think she can, but wanted to make sure. --the Benadryl med list say to give 1000 grams @ .8cc 3x a day and this possum weighs 8-12 pounds, so would that be 4cc that she would give the possum?

FYI - 1000 grams = 2 lbs

Don't see why not--may not help much but can't hurt. Dosing sounds right (this said by somebody who was NOT a stellar math student)

Just wanted to post and say that I got an OK to giving Opossums Benadryl from a very well known opossum rehabber on Facebook....... :thumbsup
