My little 5 to 5 1/2 week old squirrel is usually in a quieter room and I know she is getting more active as she gets older but I want to make sure this is normal....so I brought her out into my living room( it's not that loud, just a tv noise) and she must hear me is what I am assuming, she is running around the cage and making a chirping buzz noise...kind of like when I am about to give her the formula. She has been doing this for a little while now, its only been an hour since i brought her out here. She did fall asleep once but do you all think this is normal? Also I don't want her to be afraid of noise and I know they are social so I want her to see other things than the wall. Let me know what you all think. It might be normal but I am new to the squirrel rescuing thing! :)
Oh and I have had her for 2 weeks now.

She is probably sounding her alert to some thing new that she has heard or seen, letting you and any other near by squirrel know that some thing might be wrong...... I would leave her out where others in the house are moving about and where she can see you on a regular basis.... she will adjust quickly.

I keep mine in the living room and one of them goes in the carrier and comes to work with me every day. I work in a retail shop so customers come in and out all day. I just have to keep him from jumping on customers when he is out of the cage he loves people. He is a NR squirrel so I wanted him socialized and it has worked out great. He is perfectly at home in a busy office. I would not recomend something like that for a rescue and always keep in mind you are responsible for everything they do I just wanted to let you know how flexible they are.

Oh ok, thanks that all makes sense! I figured she just wasn't used to the room but wanted to make sure I wasn't stressing her out. :)
