Hi,
I need to find a raise and release rehabber in the Zephyrhills, FL area. My son lives there and found a 4 to 5 week old squirrel. He has offered it very small amounts on gatorade and is keeping it warm and quiet.
I live too far from him to connect any time soon, and I have 6 I am in the process of raising/releasing. It's been hard for me as I have a full time job.
Than you, Patty

Patty, I got your PM. As much as I want to help find a rehabber for you in FL, I am neck deep in making arrangements for my grandfather's funeral and coordinating the arrival of out of town family. I'm sorry.

Post in Emergency, as it will get more attention faster.

Yeah, I can not drive around today. It looks like I am an hour away from Zhills. See what Rapsody says then we can go from there. I also have a full time job. I currently will be taking two with me to work and my other two are getting close to weaning. so let me know.

I told myself I was D.O.N.E. for the season, stick a fork in me... However I have a stunted, little single (close to 9 weeks) that needs a bud. 4-5 weeks is younger than I want right now but keep me posted. If no one else can take and he's stable, I'd be willing to drive half way to pick up tomorrow (Zephyrhills is 1.5hrs from me) or I could transport if he's in more critical shape and someone else experienced nearby can take but can't drive.

Okay, thank you everyone! I will wait to hear from Rhapsody. Lauren, even if you don't end up taking this one, the wildlife rescue group I volunteer with has oodles of squirrels right now and I'm sure we can get just the right squirrel to you, if you would like.

I everyone, just checking in at 1:00 am --I have read the post, but I do not think I will be able to take in another squirrel atm as I am going to be out of state for two weeks in the middle of November and I have to plan my rehabbing around those plans and cannot have any new (or over wintered) squirrels at that time.... as hubby does not like to feed the animals when I am away as they tend to bite him.

SORRY --:grouphug :grouphug

Patty - PM me if you still need help! I can drive halfway this afternoon and if he's in good shape I can take him home to eventually put with my stunted kid for release next spring. If he's sick or very unstable perhaps I can help get him to crazy4squirrels!
