I've got an 11 week old that is a very picky eater.
She will take some HHB picky eaters, but she seems to love the acorns out of the yard the best. I offer her formula every time I feed the 9 week olds, which is every 5 or 6 hours. The past two days she's only taken 16 cc of formula over the whole day (4 feedings). She can have up to 60 cc a day according to the percentage of weight. I figured she was self weaning. But now she just seems thinner than the other 2 and she's not gaining weight as fast as she should..(3g in 2 days). They do have regular block in their cage at all times, I never see her eat it. I'm worried about her not gaining weight or developing MBD. But my main question is if too many acorns is a bad thing?

A few acorns are fine, but just like nuts you do not want to over do them.... have you started to feed the squirrels vegetables, wild plants and fruits yet? --if not please do so along with two HHB blocks in the morning.

I offer them healthy vegetables off the list, only the ones highest in Ca. Like greens, but she doesn't seem interested. Didn't know acorns were like nuts, high in phosphorus"??? I have to give her a quarter of the HHB at a time or the others will steal it. I even sometimes take her out so she can eat it without being harassed. (The other two don't need it , they eat everything else fine and they are plump. Plus I don't want to get them spoiled to picky eaters cuz I only have one small bag of that and two HUGE bags of rodent block from Chris's Squirrels....). But she' like a nibbler, she only eats a little at a time. She's 250g as of yesterday, but so is my 9 week old boy, and my picky eater girl is almost 12 weeks. I just wish I could get her to take some formula. She's not eating enough of anything in my opinion.
