Julia got a 5-6 weeks old baby yesterday.

Pooping, peeing fine, eating (FV) and acting normal.
The concern is the poop color: olive green going to darker.

Should we worry?

I was just about to post a thread about this. My 7 week old girl just started with the green nugget poop yesterday. She is eating FV and acting completely normal.

Has she been on fv all along? Anything else she is eating? Green can be infection, or food sitting very long in the intestines. Is she pooping what would be considered a normal amount for her age? Is the consistency normal?

She came from the spca to us and has been fed with nuts for few hours.
Julia got her on evening and gave her some pedialyte, then FV 1:3 and this morning she moved her on 100% FV.
Yestarday her poop was a little soft..green soft and changed to green nuggets.

Just fed her and her poop was back to normal. I don't know what was up with it but it was def green for the last 3 feeding before.

As Iwonka (:thankyou) was saying my :Love_Icon baby Millie's :Love_Icon poop is green and is still green after her last feeding tonight also I do not think she is pooping enough. She complains and just wants out whenever I try to get her to poop! Her pee is just fine.
I am a bit worried about this green poop? If it is food sitting too long in her intestines how does one get it all out? :thinking

I would check to make sure her tummy is not hard. It would help to know how long she was without food. When they don't get enough to eat then of course they can't poop much. If her tummy feels hard then it's possible that the food she was given (the nuts) sat too long in her intestines & she may be starting to bloat. I would try the hot bath and the massages and try to help her poop again.

Another thing to consider... if she'd been nursing from her mom then suddenly was given solids - the nuts - that may be harder to digest for her and might be taking time. If there is no sour smell or foul one then it could be that the nuts themselves might be giving her poop the strange color. Others may have different ideas, JMO but therefore, I would stick to the 1:3 FV at least until late morning or afternoon.

Grape pedialite can also turn their poop green. Stacey

This morning I fed Millie some FV and she has a good apetite. She pooped 5 normal shaped hard nuggets for me but they are still green (avocado skin green). Her belly does not seem hard to me but I was a bit concerned for her breathing as it seemed a bit fast to me? I was wondering if a bit of yogurt (1-2 ml) would help restore her intestines and push all the old food out.

We do not know exactly how long she was without her mother and we wondered what she ate during this time before being found.

We hope her tummy feels well soon and wondered if we should be helping more perhaps with some medicines? :thankyou
