Most literature I've read list deer antlers in the 'other' section for wild food/things to chew on. I think they are source of trace minerals and/or calcium. I know that squirrels do like them because when I walk in the wood, I often see antlers that have been gnawed.
However, Spicy never seemed interested in the ones I presented to her. :thinking Well, after some observation, I figured out the wild squirrels don't chew on fresh antlers either. They want the old, bleached-out antlers. Why I don't know :dono , but Spicy went-to-town when I gave her an old one.
So, if you've had the same experience, try old antlers that have been sitting in the weather.
