Hello,
My little guy "Peanut" has a congested sound while breathing, I really haven't heard any clicking sound, last two days eating less than normal. Has me worried.
Estimated age about 5 1/2 - 6 weeks old, has a sister "Sammy" that has always been a little larger and more out going. I believe "Peanut" was the runt of the litter.

This is Peanut bars on cage are 1/2" apart (for scale) picture taken today.

Any ideas or suggestions for my little Peanut? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

what is your general location, florida is legal state, maybe someone can recommend a sq freindly vet...
if you are near me, I will take a look at Peanut, not that I am a vet, but maybe will pick up on something that may help out!

I'm on the east coast Boynton Beach area, been trying to get a hold of this one vet we have used years ago for our dog and raccoon.

No luck with the vet we uses years ago with our raccoon (in Hawaii for 2 weeks and doesn't see wildlife anymore)
A friend of my wive came up with some "ciproflaxacin 500 mg" is this something that would help I've seen the name cipro mention a few times on TSB, don't know if they are talking about the same thing.
If this will work what dose and how to administer?
Thanks

Thankswhat would you be treating?
I can help with dosing, but what have you diagnosed?
Antibiotics put a wear on the immune system, so I would hate you to use if his immume system is already stressed and there is no bacterial infection involved.
What symptoms other than weak appetite?

Didn't hear the congestion at this feeding :) , just a few sneezes, no nasal discharge and we use no fabric softener in washer or dryer. Still not eating a lot. About half of what his sister eats.
Do you think he may just have a cold? Still no clicking sound either. Is it a must to have the clicking sound for pneumonia?
Just like everyone here we want our babies to be happy and healthy!!!
I really do appreciate your responses! :D

Peanut ate more at his afternoon feeding :D he started making the congested sound again after eating, he was rolled up in a ball. I once again listening for any clicking I heard none. Could it be the way that he is sleeping that he may actually be snoring? :thinking

Evening feeding still a congested sound.... could it be Bronchitis or Cold? Eating more than past couple of days still not as active or eating as much as sister Sammy.

could this be milk in his nose sound?
like when we swallow wrong and get some milk in ours?
is he ever congested before he eats?

What is the history on these babies, how were they found? Do you know if they fell? I am wondering if they fell, could be injury to the nose from that. Just putting ideas out there. Could you possibly get an audio clip and put it on photobucket to put up here? Maybe hearing it might help us, too.
