Releasing..in winter!?

I have a 6 week old male squirrel, but by the time he is old enough for me to release him, It will be late fall! :sanp3 What should I do? Keep him or release even in winter??

You'll have to overwinter which means getting a secure properly sized cage and taking on some hefty feeding expenses. Squirrels store food for the winter and build appropriate nests which your little guy will not have time to do or the know how at this point:)
