So I just looked in the mouths of both my boys because they're just now cutting their upper incisors, and it looks to me like Little Man, the boy who isn't doing well, may have an infection where his upper incisors hit the roof of his mouth.

Even when babies are first growing their upper incisors, there bottom teeth and upper teeth should line up EXACTLY right? Both my boys teeth are currently growing behind their upper teeth!!

Can anyone verify this for me? Looking into your babies mouths, do their teeth line up perfectly??

Now I'm even more worried! I tried to take pictures but they didn't come out well.

Can ANYONE post a pic of their baby's mouth with the bottom lip drawn down so I can see what their teeth should look like?

the lowers rest behind the uppers when idle.
They grit and grind them..to a sharp beveled edge
they move them around constantly..
sq teeth are amazing..
the incisors grow endlessly
the uppers are stationary, the lowers can move side to side and front to back independantly of each other..
like your peace sign fingers..
this allows them to carry large items.
I wouldn't worry about them just yet!

Phew, maybe it's normal then. On the little guy though, where his lowers hit the roof of his mouth there seems to be a white substance. It's not red as I would expect with an infection, but I do have him on Baytril currently for a potential respiratory issue. I'm definitely going to try to get a picture later.

I had this EXACT almost word for word description for one of The Fuzzy Five I raised spring of 2011. Her name was Zoey and I posted pics (I'll go look for them). She was totally fine, as were her teeth.

EDIT: Found it! Here is a link to the post on their thread with the pics of her mouth and teeth and the white stuff behind her top teeth. http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showpost.php?p=632279&postcount=47

As soon as you said about the white stuff on the roof of her mouth I knew exactly what you were talking about.

Keep an eye on them of course, but most likely she's gonna be just fine. :thumbsup

I totally over reacted too!!
